Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens has been rated as one of the ‘Seven Magnificent Botanical Gardens of the World’ and that comes as no surprise at all! From the second you enter the gardens, you feel at peace. Set at the foot of Table Mountain, the surroundings are majestic and it is the perfect backdrop for a beautiful day out! What makes it all the more special is the fact that you can take your own little picnic basket along with you, sit back and soak up the breath-taking sights & sounds, while having lunch. With its numerous pathways to walk along, it boasts rare African plants that ensure you have an inspiring, as well as, educative time. In summer, on lazy Sunday afternoons, the garden transforms into a live music venue where you can catch your favourite live stage performances while the sun sets and you’re relaxing on the lush lawns with your best mates. Who could ask for more? So grab a picnic blanket, your favourite bottle of wine, call up a few friends and head out for a day of sunshine & feeling oh-so good! It’s truly the best way to end or start the week! Entrance Fees: Adults: R37 SA Students (with card): R25 Children (6-17yrs): R10 Under 6 yrs: Free BOTSOC Members: Free SA Senior Citizens (with ID): Free on Tuesdays, except on public holidays. Utterly adore this National Treasure. Can spend hours getting lost in the Fynbos. One can learn so much not only about plants here, its the must visit spot in Cape Town.

Kirstenbosch is the best! Everytime I visit I discover something that I've never seen before. My favourites are the bird bath spring, the giant gorilla sculptures and the 'blind trail' which is a fun sensory experience. Whenever I visit Cape Town, Kirstenbosch is always on my 'to do' list.
