Up in the Olifants River Mountains Porterville |
| Web: | www.beaverlac.co.za |
A place where time does not exist. A place where rock jumping and hiking up the Olifants River Mountains is the daily activity. This place is truly magical! It is situated on Grootfontein Farm, a natural heritage site, and they aim at preserving this wilderness site as far as possible. Here you can choose to camp or stay in a cottage. There is no signal, no TV and daily visitors are not allowed. Wake up to chirping birds and chill by the rock pools all day or go fishing! Some of the caves have paintings and are protected by the National Monument's Act. The Farm is surrounded by natures' birds (Black Eagle), fynbos (Ericas), mountains, rockpools, fish (Clanwilliam Yellowfish) and several other species like the Rhebok and Klipspringer. If you do decided to go, make sure you book for at least 2 days to capture the entire essence of this magical, hidden natural paradise!
